"Land of the Silver Lotus" - alone this title rolls smoothly from your tongue, mysterious, promising, wondering, longing, awaking a thirst for adventure. And all this "Land of the Silver Lotus" fulfills in a true Sword&Sorcery Style.
The fourth adventure published by Xoth Publishing keeps up the high standard that already started when http://hyboria.xoth.net/ was "only" a webpage and a standard I got used to and admire. This review is based on the PDF-version of the adventure.

What do you get?

48 pages, 1 cover page with illustration and introductory text, 1 page table of contents and credits & claimers, 3 pages full-page illustrations, 2 pages full-page maps, 2 pages license, 1 page add hopefully for the next adventure "Secrets of Zadj". This leaves us with 38 pages.
On this 38 pages you find the description of a tropic isle group, its inhabitants including monsters and the current situation. Furthermore you also get a wonderful tied in adventure seed which I will not discuss any further to not spoil your pleasure to discover it for yourself.
Where necessary rules have already been added for this special environment and there are helpful notes where to find the necessary stats or rules in already published or disposable Pathfinder publications.

What use is it to me?

Depending on your preferred style of play you can pluck it for your own world and use it sandbox style or you can play the adventure in the amazing setting of Xoth, an astonishing and awe inspiring world in the sense of Sword & Sorcery Conan style.
As already mentioned the rules are Pathfinder. Is this is not your favorite rules set it can be easily adapted to your preferred one be it Beasts&Barbarians, Mythras (aka RuneQuest 6), Elric (a BRP based setting), Hârn, GURPS, Hero Fantasy, and all the others floating around or even to your own home rules, as I have done.

Final note

This is an outstanding product on a professional level and I prefer that Xoth Publishing keeps his slow publication rhythm with the high standard than to rush into a publication frenzy. I collect for 29 years by now roleplaying publications in English, French and German and Xoth Publishing ranks about my top 5. Hence my thanks for your great work and keep it up.
Allright folks. It is the first again - and even the last one of this year already. Despite having still some bugs (still getting some "missing" feedbacks) I decided to publish the latest generator - the most demanding by now. If anyone can solve the bugs, please let me know so that I can fix it for all others too.

This time to make it work you need to download all the generators listed below and place them in the same folder to make it work as the Ruin-Generator uses the other ones for details. E.g.
D:\Generator\Ruins\...

Once more written for Inspiration Pad Pro but works only with InspirationPadPro3.

The generators you need this time are
Due to erosion and environment the ruins are now a site of medium size in gray hues.
At closer inspection:
Many buildings show with complete walls, sometimes even a roof, and the floors are still intact. If they were multistoried, only one floor is left intact. The ruins could be inhabited. Because of an earthquake, the ruins show more disintegration towards the epicenter, and they even lean towards or against it.
When exploring the ruins, movement is slightly restricted, even more so by terrain and vegetation. There is the danger of falling debris, collapsing buildings, walls, or other structures.

an arch of triumph, medium sized (max 9m), located outside: city scene

a music instrument, in a worse condition than the rest of the site, located plainly visible inside a building: a tambourine

No fear though - on the 1st March you shall find a new one here - guaranteed!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01118878979083087386noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5284123914823163309.post-13334261428829647942016-01-01T13:00:00.000+01:002016-01-01T17:18:48.927+01:00Generators - NPC observationTo the First January 2016 I wish all visitors of my blog but success in this new year, belief in your dreams and work each day towards them no matter how small the steps are and no matter how many setbacks you encounter. This is our life and we earn to make our dreams come true. In this sense to a successful and happy 2016!

Which GM doesn't know this situation? Our love PCs stroll along the streets and alleys of their hometown or are exploring the same in a complete unknown town, and now we have to bring to life those very streets and alleys. For this reason I have created this generator and to not always use my own running gags but to surprise myself with something unexpected. If the observation just stays an observation or if something more is behind it, this only the gods know.

As attentive readers of my blog know this generator is like all the other ones systemneutral, written for Inspiration Pad Pro and you may download it from HERE.

Hafe fun! Remarks are welcome.
As announced a month ago I present you a special delicacy. No matter if the players are imperial officials who have to control the freight papers or if they sail under the flag of Jack Sparrow—never again will you as GameMaster get embarassed. As cool as ever can you kick the generator and with superior ease tell your players, what freight the Serenity or The Pride of Amsterdam are loaded with, no matter where they drop anchor.
The generator you will find HERE and once again is it written vor use with Inspiraton Pad Pro.

Enjoy this very special month of the year and we see us again in 2016!

This blog is the continuation of the first blog (http://celydain.blogspot.com/) I started on 1st of September 2015 and which will not be continued.

Since soon 30 year I can profit of the
possibilites of the interent and thanks to many Roleplaying Game
amateurs around the world I not only have gained an immense knowledge
but also my way in this most fascinating hobby.

Now it
is time to give something back to the Roleplaying Game community and I
start with this today, the 1st of September 2015 and put my first
generator online.

This generator is written for Inspiration Pad Pro, a free product from NBOS Software. For those in search of more generators you can find more of them at RPGinspiraton to use them online or to download them.

This Forteress Generator is system neutral and I have been inspired by the article Mighty Fortresses by Erin D. Smale.

To better understand the results you will find my explenations to the quality of the leader and his troops, inspired by GURPS Mass Combat.

Have a good time with this Forteress Generator which you can download here!

Leader and troop quality

Elite
Fighters with 20 or more combat engagements. Their pay is 50% higher and their troupe strength is doubled.

Veteran
Fighters with 15 to 19 combat engagements. Their pay is 40% higher and their troupe strength is 80% higher.

Seasoned
Fighters with 10 to 14 combat engagements. Their pay is 25% higher and their troupe strength is 50% higher.

Experienced
Fighters with 6 to 9 combat engagements. Their pay is 10% higher and their troupe strength is 20% higher.

Average
Fighters with 6 to 9 combat engagements. Their pay is 10% higher and their troupe strength is 20% higher.
A
unit is of average quality when the majority of his members have
survived 4 to 5 combat engagements. They have a base readiness to combat
of 50. For average units the troupe strength depends on their trooptype
which is also relevant for their pay.

Green
Fighters
with 1 to 3 combat engagements. Their pay is as for average units but
their troupe strength is only 80% due to lack of combat experience.

Raw
These
units have finished their base combat training but have never seen a
combat engagement yet. Their pay is 20% less and their troupe strength
is 50%.

Untrained
These are non combat
trained civilians with no combat experience. Their conscription cost
(for weapons and equipment) is 30% less than for average units. In most
cases they are only mobilized to defend their city and receive no pay.
Their troupe strength is only 25% of their trooptype. When an untrained
unit survives 3 combat engagements they are treated like a green unit
with one combat engagement under their belt.
